Overview

This class is designed to teach you how to use Hacker Lab Rocklin's Roland CAMM-1 GS-24 CNC vinyl cutter.

Vinyl cutters are not only an easy to use means for createing professional looking and extremely durable stickers, but can be a great medium for creating stencils of all sorts. While the design considerations are very similar to laser cutting, the vinyl cutters use a small drag-knife to cut through sheets of vinyl without cutting all the way through their backing, wonderful for business signage, window decals, art, and more!

Please be aware, if you have no vector design experience, consider taking 'Vector Design for Laser & Vinyl' prior to this course, and this class will not cover vector design.

You'll learn:

  • How to initialize the machine
  • How to load a vinyl roll
  • How to select correct pressure and speed settings for the cutting knife
  • How to import your graphic into the cutting software
